March 4, 2010: Dawn and Greg P.
This letter is to very gratefully acknowledge the monetary assistance my husband and I received to make our March house payment. I have had to give up my job and that along with the aggresive treatments I have been receiving were putting terrible stress on our situation. I was not aware anyone offered such assistance and I will always be grateful. I hope to give back in my own way. Again, thank you for the March house payment made for us in the amount of $1,076.71.-Dawn
I just wanted to send a note to express my gratitude regarding your generous assistance with our house payment…I am truly stupified that this type of help is offered…To see the relief on Dawn’s face when we found out you would help was incredible…She was crushed when we came to the realization that she could no longer work…Again, thank you so much and we are telling anyone who will listen about your outstanding organization. If there is any way we can help spread the word about JDBC Foundation, we will do it!-Greg

Lisa, you are an angel doing God’s work. Thank you. Thank you all for helping with my electric bill of $193.09 and the $200.00 of Giant Eagle cards. It helped me breath easier for another month or two.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank your organization for the help you gave me before Christmas. The Resource Packet was also extremely helpful for information on help with Prescription Costs. Once I am able to return to work-I plan to donate the money back. I am so glad there are organizations like yours:)

This past weekend I was honored to receive a scholarship from the JD Breast Cancer Foundation so that I could attend the 1st Annual Young Survivors’ Symposium. I sincerely thank you for calling me and offering me this scholarship because the information that I collected during the entire weekend is quite valuable and will help me in many ways to endure during my journey with metastatic breast cancer.
The topics that the Committee chose to cover are priceless and the featured speakers that shared their knowledge and stories were awesome! Everything was wonderfully organized and well-prepared and it was quite a pleasure being an attendee.
As young survivors, we have a different journey with breast cancer than those who fight this disease at an older age. With all of the many additional and different aspects of life that we have to juggle while battling our cancer, it is so much more important that we get the right information that is going to help us get through the peak years of our life. You managed to cover many very important topics for the younger survivor and I think that we all really appreciated that. I can tell you that I have already begun to put all of the information to use and have even shared bits with my family and friends so as to help them improve their health and lifestyles which hopefully will prevent a cancer diagnosis for any of them.
So thank you again for all of your time and energy that it took to put together this inspirational and educational event and I truly hope that it was successful enough that there will be a 2nd Annual Symposium. We really need events like this because I think the information you shared is vital. I hope that many more people take advantage of your program in 2010 and will particularly draw more medical professionals so that they can better understand what we as young cancer patients have to content with while surviving and thriving.

To everyone at the JD Breast Cancer Foundation-Thank you so much for all of your hard work to make the Young Survivors’ Symposium a life-changing event for me. I am a breast cancer survivor, and I learved so much valuable information that has made me feel empowered and inspired to not only continue to liveas a survivor, but to begin to give back to other women going through treatment. The speakers at your event were outstanding, and it was a dream come true to hear Kris Carr speak. The 5K on Sunday was fun and a great way to celebrate life. Thanks again for everything-I enjoyed every minute!

Your generosity has helped my family in a very tough time. Words are not enough to express what’s in my Heart.

Cancer can be a lonely battle at times and I want to thank you for lending me a financial hand. I was shocked and thrilled that you responded so quickly it brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes to realize that there are still people who remember those who are in a battle.

I received the receipt from your payment of my Dominion gas bill and would like to express my sincere thanks. This means a lot to me and I am so glad that programs like yours exist. I never thought I would be someone who would need such a program as yours or that I would ever have cancer.

I am a single mother of one, and all kinds of thoughts have gone through my head as to how I would manage things as a normal household. I’ve considered who would take care of my son if things didn’t work out with my treatment. I’ve had to consider the prospect of losing the ability to work and provide for my family. There have been so many things to consider, but I would say that my finances have been on my mind the most. When I received a call from a representative of the JD Breast Cancer Foundation stating that they would help with some groceries, a few weights were lifted off of my chest.

Saying thank you does not amply convey the amount of gratitude I feel. These food vouchers came at a time when I had absolutely nothing to eat. God Bless you all for the support and thoughtfulness. God Bless You!

Thank you so much for your very generous award. It has provided great relief from the overwhelming financial issues that unexpectedly accompanied my diagnosis. Your organization and others like you take a load off of already preoccupied minds. Your gift will provide tremendous peace of mind next month. I know I will have a roof over my head and the relief of knowing my utility companies are content. Thank you once again from the very bottom of my heart. Please know that your gift is more than appreciated. Hopefully, one day I can “pay it forward”.

I want to thank you and your program for the grocery certificates. It has been a very difficult period during my cancer treatment. However, you generosity has been a great help to me and my family. Your support has helped to reduce some of my stress in caring for my family.

Thank you from the deepest part of my Heart. Your kindness in helping me with my request gladdens my heart. However, the additional gift of the grocery cards took my breath away. I need it so much, the seemingly little things that one runs out of. These gifts will last me a long time. You gave me more to be thankful for and an early Christmas.
